Starting with Evermore, The Immortals series by Alyson Noel is a love story with a twist. This is one of the series that I couldn't put down, the story opens on 16 year old Ever Bloom, she is not your average 16 year old. Since the car crash that claimed her family (leaving her as the lone survivor) Ever can see auras, hear thoughts, and know someone's life story with one touch; she is branded a freak at her high school because she has shielded herself from human contact since the day she arrived.
Then comes Damen Auguste, he presents many mysteries to Ever, he seems to be able to read her thoughts, can make things appear/disappear, and is the only one that can calm the chaos of her mind. Ever feels like she knows this gorgeous stranger, but cannot place him anywhere in her life, little does she know that Damen holds many secrets, that he lives in a world where no one ever dies.
This series is more romance than anything else, but don't pin it as a chick book. There are dark forces at work in this series, bringing in adventure, mystery, and action. I am currently reading the sixth and final book in the series, Everlasting, and am just as caught up in it as I was with the first; don't pass up this amazing read! :)
